Waukegan Chief Football Camp 2009

This years football camp will begin July 13th - 17th from 5:30 - 7:30 at Weiss Field. The cost for the camp is $50 which includes a T-shirt and shorts as well as a cook-out on the last day of camp.

This camp will emphasize the fundamentals of balance, leverage and power as they relate to offensive and defensive play. Drills will promote competition as well as improvement of basic techniques. Coaches from the WYFA as well as high school players will assist in the camp.

If you are interested there is two ways of signing your child up for the camp:
1. You can come to the camp and sign them up that day
2. You can download and fill out the application and mail it to P.O Box 8886 Waukegan, IL. 60079 along with the fee.

We are still accepting registrations for Football and Cheerleading. Please download forms and send to the P.O Box that is on top of the registration form along with the fee. We do have payment arrangement availiable.......

Dear Parents,

We are excited to announce that we have many changes coming your way for our 2009 Football/Cheerleading season.

First, we would like to announce that the WYFA is no longer participating in the JFLNI league. We have decided to take steps in moving the program forward into a larger more competitive and family oriented league, The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL).

We are very happy to report that on Tuesday January 20th, 2009 the TCYFL welcomed us as well as other teams in our area into there organization.

What does this mean for us as a league, below are some of this years highlights.

* Both Saturday and Sunday will play the same amount of games
* Both Saturday and Sunday will have playoff and championship games
* Trophies are awarded to all participants
* The league will get to play more competitive teams
* Heavyweight level will be more aligned with the way it will be in High School, with weights ect.
* There will now be a Sunday Bantam team
* Homecoming is coming back
Other highlights this year will be that Saturday will now have a scoreboard during our home games as well as a larger choice from our concessions, such as Hamburgers, Hot dogs, etc.
