Welcome to the 2008 Chiefs Football and Cheerleading program:

The WYFA Football Board members are busy getting back to work in preparation for the 2008 Season.


We have selected the Head Coaches for the 2008 season, and there are some changes. We will be announcing them as soon as we can.

Thanks again for supporting the Chiefs and we look forward to seeing you soon.

This year the Waukegan Chiefs Youth Football and Cheerleading Association (WYFA) is celebrating over 30 years of providing youth football and cheerleading for children in the Waukegan area, and is a member of the Junior Football League Northern Illinois (JFLNI). Our organization has changed dramatically for the good, especially in the past 2 years, but we continue with our primary goal,

"To impress upon the boys and girls of the community the values of good Sportsmanship, Honesty, Loyalty, Courage, Physical Fitness and Self Discipline."

We have evolved from playing with just the following teams on Saturday Bantams, Peewees, and Featherweights to adding Heavyweights and hopefully we will have enough kids participate this year to add a Lightweight team.

The Sunday program consists of the following teams Peewee, Featherweight, Lightweight and Heavyweights.

There is not enough space here to provide all of the individual thank's that are necessary and do to the past and present Board Members that have sacrificed countless hours of their personal time to help build this organization. If you happen to run across any of them, please pass along our thanks for laying the groundwork to this wonderful organization.

As we have talked about in the past, our organization has close to 380 participants in football, and cheerleading. Our volunteers were stretched to their limits in trying to serve these participants and their parents.

I am encouraging everyone to think about our goal as stated above when they attend the football fields this upcoming year. Cheer wildly for your team, they deserve it. Show respect for the opponents and the referees. Don't forget one of the most important people on the field your coaches they put a lot of hours working with your children, they have earned the respect do to them. Remember to always be a positive role model for the children. Encourage others to do the same. With everyone's support, we can achieve our goal.
